The Big Beers, Belgians, and Barleywines Festival will be celebrating their 20th anniversary with their 2020 event this year. Over the years, the festival has grown to extend beyond the walls of the Commercial Tasting event, much like what happens each year with GABF. Now, the town of Breckenridge plays host to an assortment of events the week of Big Beers. So, we decided to help round-up everything happening outside of the festival itself. Details: Enjoy a craft beer list like no other at Kenosha’s Big Beers Tap Take Over party! The Velvet Jackets will be taking the stage at 8:30 PM with some live music to get the night started. Breakthru Beverage Colorado brings pours from Boulevard Brewing, Bristol Brewing, Odell Brewing, Odd 13, Ska Brewing, River North Brewing, Outer Range, Melvin Brewing, New Holland Brewing, Upslope, Stone, Great Divide, Avery, Dogfish Head, and Dry Dock. Kenosha will also be offering some whale taps from WeldWerks, Amalgam, Casey, Mikerphone, Speciation, The Rare Barrel, and Rowley Farmhouse Ales.

Details: Primitive Beer will be bringing some of their brews up the hill for a special bottle tapping at Outer Range on Thu Jan 9 at 2PM. These guys brew solely spontaneous, barrel-fermented beers following a strict set of rules known as Méthode Traditionnelle. Big Beers Into the New Year with Crooked Stave Artisans

Details: Crooked Stave Artisans will showcase several brands in their distribution network on tap throughout the weekend at Breckenridge Tap House, including Beachwood Brewing, Crooked Stave, Ecliptic Brewing, Fremont Brewing, La Cumbre, Transient Artisan Ales, and Two Roads Brewing. The event will also include a special tapping of Fremont’s Batch 3000 Barleywine.

Details: There was some unfinished business from the 2019 Brewers Rendezvous in Salida. So, the time has come to relive the joy, the excitement, and the finesse of air hockey. Fermly and Resolute Brewing Company are just basically showing up in the game room at Beaver Run during Big Beers this year to play a bunch of games of air hockey to determine the best air hockey player in Colorado brewing.
